When Olympus opens the Thirteenth Throne, rivals Pyrion, a water demigod, and Thalion, a fire demigod, enter the Trial of Embers. Secretly in love with Thalion, Pyrion's provocations are meant to get his attention. Thalion believes Pyrion targets him, assuming Pyrion is after his sister Lyra.
